White Essentials to Wear after Memorial Day

With labor day next weekend, summer officially starts in a week. Pools are opening and white skirts, blazers, dresses and accessories are coming back into your closet. I love wearing white in the summer, and here are some of my favorite ways to use this color in your professional summer wardrobe.

1. The Pencil Skirt

A simple, white, pencil skirt will serve you well in the summer. Easy to pair with a variety of colorful tops, your white skirt will look chic and summery in the office. Choose a skirt that hits about an inch or two above the knee, and fits perfectly. Pair your skirt with neutral heels, or a pop of color to really mix things up.

2. The Classic Blazer

Invest in a white blazer that will wear well for years to come. A great alternative to the black and grey that often fills professional wardrobes, your white blazer looks great with other neutrals or a colorful work dress. Liven up your professional basics with a white blazer and colorful accessories.

3. The Little White Dress

The little white dress is a go to favorite for summer. We all have a little black dress, but the little white dress is equally versatile. Add a belt, bold jewelry, colorful shoes or a bright cardigan to make endless looks with the same basic piece. Perfect for the working girl on a budget.

4. White Blouse or Oxford Shirt

A white oxford shirt or blouse is a must-have for any professional wardrobe. Appropriate year round and perfect to layer, white staples are essential for every season. Few shirts age better than the oxford, and a white silk camisole brings a touch of elegance to any look. Add both of these to your summer work wardrobe.
